Changelog
What is new in Ferritin.
Every version of the app, newest first. Most arrive by themselves the next time you open Ferritin. Some need the App Store or Google Play update.
Latest: 1.5.0,
1.5.0 Your day, by the program's rules
Arrives by itself
New
- Snacks: add up to three beyond your three meals. They are free of the iron rules.
- Breakfast is often meat or fish? Once your ferritin is 30 or more, coffee and tea can go with it.
- Vegetarian or vegan: setting up says plainly that iron from plants is harder to absorb, and asks once whether fish or shellfish are an option.
Better
- Milk and yogurt go 3 to 4 hours from any iron, with your free meal or in a clear stretch of the day. The 20:30 cut-off for dairy is gone.
- Matcha waits until 3 hours before or 4 hours after an iron meal.
- In the steady phase, breakfast is your free meal, so morning coffee and dairy fit.
- Iron is now at bedtime, with a glass of water, instead of 30 minutes before bed. Setting up tells you when your last meal is less than 2 hours before bed.
- My plan says when vitamin C is a tablet (with the iron at night) and when it comes from food at meals: lemon, bell pepper, tomato, parsley.
1.4.1 Face ID asks once
Arrives by itself
Fixed
- With the lock on, Face ID could ask again every few seconds. It now asks when you open Ferritin, and again only after a minute away.
1.4.0 Apple Health
With the store update
On iPhone, Ferritin now reads from Apple Health and saves to it. You choose each part.
New
- Ferritin reads your sleep for your usual wake and bed times, your periods for the iron estimate, and the coffee and tea other apps log as caffeine.
- The periods, coffee and tea and plate iron you log in Ferritin are saved to Health. Delete one in Ferritin and it goes from Health too.
- Setting up asks once, before the questions about your drinks and your day, and fills in what it finds. Turn each part on or off in Me, under Profile, then Apple Health.
1.3.0 Sign in with Apple and Google
With the store update
New
- Continue with Apple (on iPhone) or Continue with Google when you sign in or create your account.
- An account made this way has no password, so Me hides the e-mail and password changes. To delete it, you confirm with Apple or Google first.
1.1.4 A space after Ferritin
Arrives by itself
Fixed
- The space after Ferritin is back in four Portuguese lines under Me, and in the iPhone's permission prompts in every language (those come with the App Store update).
1.1.3 A glass tab bar, and iPhone Duo
Arrives by itself
New
- On iPhone Duo, the tabs sit in the side column, where iOS keeps its own bars.
Better
- The tab bar is frosted glass now. With Increase Contrast on, it stays solid.
1.1.2 The reminder, only where it works
Arrives by itself
Fixed
- On a phone with an older Ferritin that cannot send notifications, the iron-night reminder switch is hidden instead of failing.
1.1.1 Your account, edits and reminders
With the store update
New
- In Me: confirm your e-mail with a code, change your e-mail or password, sign out your other devices and download your data.
- Forgot your password? A code by e-mail lets you set a new one.
- See this week's plates, drinks and check-ins, and delete any of them. In Labs, you can now edit or delete what you added.
- With an account, plate and label photos are read on our server, and your plate photos are kept in your account.
- Iron-night reminders on your phone. Switch them on in My plan.
1.1.0 Five languages and your own account
With the store update
New
- Ferritin in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and German.
- Create an account as you set up, and your plan, labs and logs follow you to a new phone.
- Add a lab report as a photo, a PDF from the lab or the numbers typed in. You check every value before anything is saved.
- Ten more lab markers, ranges from the program's lab guide, and pregnancy and postpartum ranges once you add a due or birth date in Me.
- A lock with Face ID, in Me under Privacy.
- Updates arrive by themselves. Me, under App updates, shows your version and checks for a new one.
